Maria Paz Zafra Martín, is a Ramón y Cajal researcher at Granada University since September 2022. She is also a member of BioFab i3D Lab- Biofabrication, 3D (bio)printing Singular Lab, and belongs to the TEC-16 group at ibs.GRANADA.

Her scientific career is supported by a high publication record in important scientific journals as Cancer Discovery or Nature Biotechnology, grants and awards that funded and acknowledge her research.

She is also inventor of valuable gene editing tools. As today, her main research line seeks out to unravel tumor heterogeneity and resistance mechanisms from a very particular and unique context: the study of different single mutations in KRAS. This ubiquitous oncogene is altered in more than 95% of patients with pancreatic adenocarcinoma (PC). The goal is to contribute to improve what is known as precision or personalized medicine by changing the current clinic practice towards a more informative choice of therapies lines.
