Antonio Martínez
Cegarra

Antonio M. Cegarra received the Ph.D. degree from the University of Granada, Granada, Spain, in 1980. In 1989, he earned a permanent position as a Full Professor at the Department of Algebra at the same university, where he presently serves.

 

His research interests are mainly focused on category theory, homological algebra, and algebraic homotopy theory, with objectives significant not only by themselves but also by the applications they may have in algebra, geometry, and topology.

 

He has developed an extensive experience in Spanish research projects, advised seven PhD students, and published more than seventy research papers. He has been a Member of the Editorial Boards of several journals as “Extracta Mathematicae”,  the “Journal of Homotopy and Related Structures”, “ Homology, Homotopy and Applications”, or ISNR Geometry.
